SB XLII Naming the Catch

Seems like every news outlet in NY is trying to name the catch.

1010 WINS - Name the Amazing Manning/Tyree Super Bowl Catch

WCBS NEWSRADIO 880 - Name Tyree's Catch

Yahoo: Let's name the Tyree catch

The catch, the play, the down does not really need a name. Giants fans will remember it and so will all NFL fans.

Years from now when a QB escapes a lineman and converts a 3rd down, they'll say he got Manning'd.

Or when a WR makes a highly unlikely circus catch, they'll say he Tyree'd it.

When a big favorite loses when it counts the most, they'll say they Belichek'd (or maybe Belichoked).

My point is, the play will be remembered on its own and creating a forced reference in a slogan won't do it; Time will. A common and natural reference to the catch will eventually emerge. And forever, when an announcer refers to "the play", Giants fans will smile and Patriot fans will switch the channel.

What do you think they are calling the play in New England?
